The Opening Game Pass Additions of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Is Still Fighting.
Everywhere you go, enthusiasts continue to ring the funeral bells for the green team. The platform was lately surpassed in sales by a platform few have heard of. Xbox fan sites are now publishing content regarding Sony's platform as a new development. 2025 was an era of significant turmoil for the Xbox ecosystem. However, judging purely by what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it is apparent that Microsoft continues to plan to draw people in with strong games on its key platform.
The Current Inclusions
The two games you can play right now today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. Instead, the excitement lies in what's arriving to Game Pass soon that's deserving of attention.
Significant Forthcoming Releases
On Jan. 13, Game Pass will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that deviates from the standard Ubisoft formula with an intergalactic heist adventure. Another big get is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, previously described as "a superb mixture of horror and action."
Intriguing Niche Additions
But even the smaller games set to join the catalog deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, an unjustly ignored roguelite that's a blast to play, becomes available next week — and it's worth experiencing even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year might get its hooks in you remarkably quickly.
Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by Rebellion Developments, also warrants your attention. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.
A Solid, Curated Lineup
Ultimately, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, and they don't represent massive exclusive blockbusters that validate the subscription by themselves. But Microsoft's additions here are exceptionally strong. The lineup provides a solid mix of older titles you may have skipped and new-ish games that didn't get the attention they warranted upon launch — which makes them ideal prospects to find a new audience on Game Pass.
You might need to brace yourself to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
