Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.
Prolific young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, the company has said.
A spokesman for the publisher stated: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the conclusion was made after an inquiry regarding allegations of inappropriate behaviour directed at young women.
The company has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, noting: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."
A Prolific Publishing History
Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold in excess of 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
Some of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.
To date, he has released more than 40 books altogether, which features a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.
A Dual Career
His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.
This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
